Professional Training Programme Description

DMUK & e2Hub's Professional Training Programme fosters the environment of advanced professional learning that brings the latest, cutting-edge and innovative academic and industry developments that can be applied in daily business operations. The program has been created with a global manager in mind as it takes you on a journey of exploring not only local but also global businesses, cultures, business models, strategic plans, United Nations' sustainable development goals (SDGs), disclosure and reporting requirements provided by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), business funding options, developments in technology, business sustainability and succession planning, human capital management and leadership styles in various business settings.

The program consists of 7 mandatory modules, and each individual module has specific learning outcomes. As participants progress through the training program, they are required to obtain the following graduate attributes:

These four main graduate attributes are linked with learning outcomes in individual module's learning outcomes. Further, each module's learning outcomes are connected with the content and assessments to ensure that relevant competencies are achieved at each level. Our professional training program requires its graduates to have achieved successful completion of each of the four graduate attributes presented above. Teaching Staff

Dr Mariya Pionka is Associate Professor in Finance and Dean of Business and Law School at De Montfort University Kazakhstan. Dr Mariya Pionka specialised in general investments, personal and corporate superannuation investments while working for Westpac Banking Corporation and BT Financial Group in Australia. She was elected to join The Housing Connection, a not-for-profit organisation in Sydney, Australia, as Treasurer and Board Member from November 2019. In 2020 and 2021, she received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Commonwealth Bank, recognising her contribution to the Australian community.

Dr Pionka is the Associate Editor for the Journal of the International Council for Small Business (JICSB). She is a Master Teacher for the ICSB Global Certificate in Entrepreneurial Finance. She won teaching awards at the University of Sydney Business School and was recognised as TOP 20 at the University of Technology Sydney Business School. In July 2021, Dr Pionka was awarded the International Council for Small Business Presidential Award. The ICSB Presidential Award winners are selected from the pool of exceptional ICSB members who integrate both service and empathy into their roles as innovative leaders.

Dr Mariya Pionka completed a Bachelor of Business Studies and Doctor of Philosophy, PhD (Finance) degrees at Charles Sturt University in Australia earned a Master of Business in Finance degree from the University of Technology Sydney. She also completed The Management Development Program at Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Her research interests include entrepreneurial finance, traditional and alternative ways to finance small and medium enterprises (SMEs), corporate finance, policies for the small business sector, innovation and SMEs, FinTechs and Blockchain. Her recent publications were featured in articles published by the Asian Development Bank, World Bank and ICSB reports submitted to the United Nations and academic journals. She is the recipient of the Best Paper Awards from the ICSB. Dr Pionka's upcoming new textbook titled "Financial Planning and Personal Finance" published by Cengage Publishing House will be available in July 2022. This is the 1st edition in Australia and New Zealand, and it is one of the most comprehensive textbooks covering both professional Financial Planning and Personal Finance.

Dr Washad Emambocus is an Associate Professor in Enterprise and Departmental Resourcing Coordinator for Management and Entrepreneurship and Corporate and Apprenticeship. He has more than 10 years of experience in teaching areas in Management Science, Operations Management and Project Management. As a module leader, his teaching focus relates to Service Operations Management and Business Research and Analytics. Dr Washad Emambocus works in the development and planning of Corporate and Apprenticeship programmes at De Montfort University. He is involved in client management and external network building.

Washad is an experienced coach and mentor and provides coaching and mentoring sessions to executives and managers at various organisations. He acquired his training from London South Bank University facilitated by 'Graydin – coaching in Education'. Washad collaborated at embedding coaching in Higher Education and collaborated on a module for teaching coaching skills to undergraduate students. The module is specialised in equipping students with coaching skills relevant for their studies, career and personal growth.

The common thread running through Washad's scholarly activities is a unique interest in Behavioural Economics, researching the impact of investors' behaviours and psychology on the financial market and pricing mechanism. This was the core aspect of Washad's PhD, "Contributions to Evidence, Analysis and Models of Irrational Behaviour in the Financial Market". More recently, his interest has been in the area of Operations Management within micro businesses.

Dr Emambocus has a PhD in Behavioural Finance with an emphasis on micro and macro Economics at London South Bank University, UK. He has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (Teaching and Learning) at London South Bank University. He obtained MSc. International Finance & Information Management at London South Bank University, UK and BSc. (Hons) Public Administration & Management.

Mr Marek Pionka is a Director of Eurasian Entrepreneurial Hub at De Montfort University Kazakhstan. He is focused professional with extensive entrepreneurial and business management experience of 30 years in the education and leather tanning technology sectors.

Marek has completed a Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship (University of Technology Sydney), Australia and a Master Degree by Research (Leather Tanning Technology), Poland and Bachelor Degree Honours (Chemical Engineering), Poland.

During his previous employment as a Senior Consultant (innovative technologies for leather tanning), he was involved in researching ways to develop new and environmentally friendly leather finishing technology. He is passionate about engaging the industry to promote research and teaching.

For over 15 years, Marek was Executive Academic Director of Sydney premiere Step Up Dance Studio. As a five-time Polish National Champion, he proved that there is only one way to win - be ahead of all competitors. His creative and "outside the box" thinking allowed him to create over 20 group and 100 individual unique stage performances.

Mrs Nas Harrison had a successful career in Retail Management in London. Nas Harrison joined the Business & Law Faculty at De Montfort University in 2009 as an associate lecturer in marketing. Over the years, she has been teaching and leading marketing programmes, especially in areas of Customer Relationship Management and Retail Marketing. In her current role as an Associate Professor in Transnational Education with the Faculty, she plays a vital role in the delivery and continued development of the Faculty and the institutional TNE growth strategy.

Nas is responsible for the innovative development and management of teaching and learning activities that cater to students from diverse and international backgrounds. Nas is accountable for overseeing DMU courses' academic quality taught at TNE partners and ensuring that they align with Faculty and University strategic plans. She has extensive knowledge of TNE at an operational, academic and strategic level, as she has led and delivered large scale TNE projects for the Faculty.
