Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment at an international university campus in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Role Overview:
As the Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s strategic direction and driving student enrolment growth. Reporting directly to the President, you will be responsible for overseeing all marketing and recruitment efforts. Leading a small team of dedicated professionals, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the university’s success. You will:
Develop and execute innovative marketing strategies to enhance the university’s brand and reputation within the education sector.
Drive student recruitment efforts through targeted campaigns, outreach initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
Oversee digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, and online advertising, to reach a broader audience.
Utilize data analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes.
Lead, inspire, and mentor a young team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and nurturing work environment.
Collaborate with admissions and student support teams to ensure a seamless enrolment process and exceptional student experience.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Develop and execute a comprehensive, data-informed marketing plan that strengthens the university’s brand, supports student recruitment efforts, and aligns with the institution’s strategic objectives.
Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies, adjusting as necessary to maximize ROI.
Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape to ensure the university’s marketing strategies remain current and impactful.
Leadership & Team Management:
Provide leadership and direction to the marketing team which includes creative graphic designers, social media specialists, and admissions and recruitment personnel.
Foster a supportive, collaborative, and innovative work environment, promoting professional growth and development within the team.
Student Recruitment & Admissions:
In collaboration with the admissions team, develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract a diverse and high-quality student body.
Collaborate with academic departments to effectively market the university’s programs and courses.
Use data analytics to refine recruitment strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
Social Media & Digital Marketing:
Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of engaging social media campaigns to amplify the university’s online presence and engagement.
Ensure the university’s website and digital platforms are current, engaging, and user-friendly, and that they accurately represent the university’s brand.
Develop and implement SEO strategies to increase online visibility.
Creative Direction & Graphic Design:
Provide creative direction to the graphic design team, ensuring that promotional materials, digital platforms, and university events deliver a cohesive and compelling brand message.
Ensure designs are innovative, modern, and aligned with the latest design trends.
Partnership Building & Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align marketing strategies with the university’s overall goals.
Develop partnerships with external organizations to extend the reach of the university’s marketing efforts.
REQUIREMENTS:
Proven track record in strategic marketing and student recruitment, preferably within the education sector but open to strong candidates with a proven track record of growth across other B2C services too
Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve outstanding results.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, branding, and communications strategies.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Innovative and forward-thinking approach, constantly seeking new ways to enhance the college’s reputation and attract students.

Relevant qualifications in marketing, business, or a related field.
