Guest Lecture from Yandex Go

On May 27, 2024, Natalya Moskvitina, YandexGo’s Head of Platform Employment and Driver Partnership Service, delivered a lecture on gig platforms. DMUK Business and IT students learned about the benefits and economic impact of gig apps. Natalya’s lecture covered the platform economy, new forms of platform employment, and Yandex Go’s employment technologies.

Natalya highlighted how the platform economy benefits society by offering high-quality services, job opportunities, and efficient market entry for businesses. She noted the gig economy’s role in reducing unemployment and inequality, and the need for new regulatory approaches. She explained how drivers join Yandex Go in Kazakhstan, emphasizing ease of access, minimal requirements, and financial incentives.

Natalya also differentiated between classifieds and marketplace platforms, using case studies and discussing potential services for platforms like Krisha.kz, Olx.kz, and Kolesa.kz.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions, including about internships.
