Future Trends in Investment & Portfolio Management: Insights on Equities and Bonds
December 12, Almaty, Kazakhstan – De Montfort University Kazakhstan (DMUK) invited Askar Akhmedov, CFA at Atlas Capital Management as a guest speaker to host lecture on “Future Trends in Investment & Portfolio Management: Insights on Equities and Bonds.” The event was attended by different students from IYZ to UG3 interested in the finance sector and eager to gain practical insights into current investment trends.
Mr. Akhmedov shared his extensive expertise in investment management, drawing on his professional experience across equity research, trading, and asset management. He delved into the characteristics and valuation methods of equities and fixed-income asset classes, using real-world examples such as Nvidia, KEGOC, and other prominent players in the local and global financial markets. The session included insights into the role of bonds, with discussions on treasury and corporate bonds and their significance within the global and local contexts, citing examples from enterprises like BCC bank and multinational corporations such as Nvidia. Mr. Akhmedov emphasized the need for students to build expertise in sectors like industrials and utilities, where opportunities for growth and differentiation remain untapped. He encouraged participants to go beyond traditional resources by exploring industry-specific forums, listening to financial podcasts, and collecting direct feedback from market users.
