DMUK Finance Students Engage in Interactive Learning at SkyBridge Invest
November 29, Almaty, Kazakhstan – Thirteen second-year students from De Montfort University Kazakhstan’s (DMUK) Finance and Investment programme visited the offices of SkyBridge Invest, a prominent investment firm, for an engaging and educational experience.
The session began with an informative presentation by SkyBridge Invest managers, who provided insights into the company’s operations and career opportunities within the organisation. Following the presentation, students were divided into three teams and tasked with completing practical exercises designed to test their financial knowledge and analytical abilities, as well as presentation skills.
One challenge involved calculating key financial ratios, such as Price-to-Earnings (P/E) and Enterprise Value-to-EBITDA (EV/EBITDA), to evaluate which of two companies would be more attractive to investors. Another task required students to correctly assemble financial statements in the proper order, reinforcing their understanding of essential financial reporting concepts.
The sessions were highly interactive, with students actively participating, asking insightful questions, and collaborating with their peers. The top-performing team from these activities was offered a unique opportunity to intern at SkyBridge Invest, adding an exciting competitive element to the day.
DMUK extends its sincere gratitude to the SkyBridge Invest team and Managing Director of HR, Olga Tsoy, for hosting this enriching experience and creating meaningful opportunities for our students to bridge academic theory with real-world practice.
Such initiatives highlight DMUK’s commitment to preparing students for successful careers through collaboration with industry leaders. Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for updates on upcoming opportunities!
